The Fish Who Helped Saint Gudwall by Abbie Farwell Brown

I choose this story because I just really like fish, the ocean is my favorite.

Saint Gudwall moved back to a small island off the coast of Wales with a friend.
It was summer time, the coast is calm and beautiful, but in the winter the ocean becomes angry, there are many bad storms.

Gudwall and his friend settled in and lived through the summer in a deep cave. Often times, the waves would rush into the cave but not far enough in that it would hurt them or ruin their things.
In the winter, things got very bad and the storms forced them out of their cave home. They left because they knew with the next storm, they probably wouldn't survive. But they were stuck on the island. The only thing they could do was pray for a savior, a barrier, just something that would keep them safe through the winter.

This is when the fish came in. They felt bad for the men so they worked all day to build a sand bar in front of the cave the men lived in to keep the waves out. All day the men were upset until one of them noticed the sand bar. They then realized it were the fish that did this for them and wished the fish a life of blessings.
